We have always invested in energy efficiency, adopting practices aimed at reducing our environmental impact. This commitment translates into the informed use of resources, the recycling of materials and investments in low-impact technologies.
Energy
With the installation of around 7600 photovoltaic panels, Sacilese produces over 3 million kWh of energy from renewable sources every year. This investment enables us to power our production activities and significantly reduce our environmental impact, making an estimated saving of over 780 tonnes of CO₂ a year.
Water
The company water system is equipped with an advanced filtration system that treats and purifies process water. The water, pollutant-free, is returned to the production cycle, enabling a significant reduction in the consumption of water from the water mains while at the same time guaranteeing high standards of efficiency and sustainability.
Glass Recycling
As part of an increasingly sustainable glass processing cycle, production waste also has an important role to play. Through the Pilkington “renew:glass” programme, Sacilese is committed to recycling scrap glass, which is recovered and reintroduced to the production process, helping to produce new sheets of float glass.
